Buying and selling domain names?

When you buy a domain name and then want to resell it how do you re-sell it, and to whom? Is there really a market for it? Generally speaking how long do you keep the names before they sell?

1. tricky business to get into. Usually have to buy a ton of names and hope to recoup your investment by getting some sucker to overpay for a name he really wants. I, for one, just don't like the idea of this kind of business. To answer your questions.. you usually try to buy names that people or companies forget to renew, then try to get them to pay you exorbitant prices to get their site name back. Too much like scum sucking for me.
