How to invest in domain names and sell domain names for profit?

I plan to buy and hold several domain names like say about 500 and then sell them to buyers who can't do without the lovely names I will own. Looking for good business insight and help as to what kind of domain names to buy and the road map I should follow to make profits.

  1. Just like any other business, u need to have vision, u need to know what you are doing. Think of the great names, then toss the coin and buy and wait. Someday, someone will offer u some amount u expected, well maybe. But be aware in those business as u can't buy such as micrsoft.com or microsft.com. As those intention are clearly trying to mess with big companies. There are laws already passed to protect big trademarks. Good luck with yr investment!
  2. Try this for tips and tutorials related to domain name buying and selling. http://www.nameslot.com/Tips-and-Techniques-f-10.html It might give you more idea. There are many things involved in domain buying and selling. Moreover making profits on it. So I gave you the link as I cannot write it all here it will be too lengthy.
  3. Stick with popular, short, strong keyword domains. Real estate, cash, loans, travel and gambling are amongs the most popular. We currently own thousands of domain names http://syntheticrhyme.com
  4. You have to do your homework and learn what domain names are worth the cash. If you plan to park the domain then you want names with type in traffic( traffic people would just type in to see if it was a site) Most all of the Premium Top level domain names are already taken, your best bet is to start looking at the domain auctions at: www.pool.com and www.tdnam.com and see if you can snag a desirable expiring name. The problem with trying to resell names is the majority of investors already check these auction sites daily so if they want the domain they will most likely get it. I don't know whoelse you are wanting to sell these to?? You might want to try aquiring some names at these auctions for parking revenue but you would need to do a lot of reading up on how to determine which names are good and which are not. If your talking about just registering new names, well good luck, you will spend hours trying to find a good one that wasn't already taken . The most I ever got off a new domain I registered was $500, yes it was a nice profit but I also registered a lot in my early days that didn't make a profit! So be careful. I am not trying to discourage you I'm simply saying there are better ways to make money online:) Good Luck!
