I very recently found out about selling domain names on ebay. Would anybody have information to give about it.
I would like to make a profit on the internet. I found out that you can use Godaddy.com to create a domain name and then sell it in a auction. I was just wondering if someone would know more about this or know someone that has done this. Did it bring positive results or not.

- I sell on Ebay and have had good results
- You should be able to select good domain names which are in demand. There are registrars which are cheaper than GoDaddy, you can get domains for as little as $1.89
- Like anything else on eBay it depends on how badly a person wants what you're selling. I have not sold domain names on eBay, but if someone wanted a particular domain name wouldn't they just go to GoDaddy.com and get it? It sounds to me like a good way to end up with a bunch of listing fees and domain names you can't get rid of, but that's just me. If a domain name I want isn't available I use a bit of creativity until I find something that works for me....that is why one of my domain names (fanzstuff.com) is misspelled, but it still gets a lot of traffic.
- Yes you can do it, but like everything else in life it takes a lot of work to make it successful. I have bought and sold domain names on eBay with mixed results. If you are going to proceed I would suggest creating only generic domain names that are descriptive of products or services someone would sell like: cdplayers.com or computers.com. Names along those lines sell better than made up names with no meaning. Also beware of trademarks and typo's of trademarks. You will see a lot of those on eBay but stay away from them as you can get in legal trouble. Watch the auctions for a couple of days and you will get a good idea of what prices names are selling for and then determine if it's worth your while. Good Luck
